- Candy Floss... An architectural material? Why not? If irregularity, beauty, fun, magic and transformation is what you are looking for, then Candy Floss is just the thing! From Candy Floss, we derived the concepts of deterioration and lack of control. The material takes control of its formal outcome and also deteriorates away once in contact with moisture. The rate at which the "magic" of this deterioration happens, depends on temperature and humidity levels. Our final architectural design consists of an inflated playland that is interactive and relates to Candy Floss in every possible way. It shows deterioration at different rates as it either slowly deflates away or "pops" due to public interaction. The use of recycled plastics allowed us to loosen control over the size and shape of each unique inflatable. The informality of our project lets the interactor revisit his carefree childhood days... Fun Fairs, Carnivals, Birthday Parties and Candy Floss ofcourse!!!
